2-hour hands-on session (held at TroutChasers Lodge in Bozeman):
In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to effectively, and safely, walk the river. Course will include how to look for dangers, how to cross the river safely, how to look at water levels pre-trip and what to do if you, or your fishing buddy, falls in or gets hurt.
Participants may use their own waders and boots, or we will provide these if necessary. Students may wet-wade, but wading boots are required.
We will also practice reading the water to understand trout habitats and where to find them. In addition, we will discuss how to read water temperatures and when and when not to fish.
Students may use their own fly fishing equipment or borrow equipment if needed. This class requires a valid Montana fishing license.
