2-hour hands-on session (held at TroutChasers Lodge in Bozeman):
This session will provide a basic overview of angling protocols and etiquette when walk wading and/or floating in a drift boat. Topics include low-holing, boat ramp readiness, positioning when there is more than one angler in the group, and “Leave No Trace” principles.
We will also touch on how to best navigate a fly shop and address any outlying questions or concerns.
Students may use their own fly fishing equipment or borrow equipment if needed. This class requires a valid Montana fishing license.
