2-hour hands-on session (held at TroutChasers Lodge in Bozeman):
In this session, we will discuss the differences between dry fly fishing, nymphing, and streaming. This will include showing how each set-up is achieved as well as a comprehensive overview of which bugs would be in each category and when they would most effectively be used.
We will also dial in and practice the basic and most necessary knots and connection styles for rigging – including (but not limited to) the Double Surgeon and Improved Clinch.
Students may use their own fly fishing equipment or borrow equipment if needed. This class requires a valid Montana fishing license.
