2-hour hands-on session (held at TroutChasers Lodge in Bozeman):
Building on the expression ‘Match the Hatch’, participants will gain a better understanding of a trout’s diet will help improve success with fly fishing.
Focus will be on Midges, Mayflies, Caddis, Stoneflies, Terrestrials, and general attractors. This class is designed and purposed to help better understand the major insect groups including how to effectively identify and fish them.
(We will not be tying flies in this session.)
For the practice portion of the class, students may use their own fly fishing equipment or borrow equipment if needed. This class requires a valid Montana fishing license.
