Capt. Sue Kerver has long held a passion for service and helping others. As an avid fly fisherwoman, an outdoor enthusiast, and a Coast Guard licensed Captain, Sue is now on a mission to use her knowledge and personal experiences to help women feel confident in the outdoor space.
In 2020, Sue attended Sweetwater Guide School in Montana and, a year later, moved to Bozeman where she obtained her Montana State fly fishing guide license and founded Two Gals and a Boat™, with the goal of practicing strong conservation principles, creating community, and educating and empowering women to feel confident to explore the outdoors on their own or with others.
Sue is a passionate advocate for service and empowering women. As a Montana fly fishing guide, trauma-informed coach (International Coaching Federation accreditation is in process), a Coast Guard licensed Captain, and outdoor enthusiast, she uses her extensive knowledge and personal experiences to help women feel confident in the outdoor space and beyond.
Sue is also the host of the Two Gals and a Mic podcast (©2024), and is publishing The Starfish Chronicles (2026). (More info on the book launch and podcast may be found at: suekerver.com.)
With a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Leadership from The Citadel, a Master of Communications and Journalism from the University of Georgia and a Bachelors in English and Secondary Education from the University of Denver, Sue combines her education and nearly three decades of experience in education, agriculture, wildlife conservation and Veterans services, to create a rich and welcoming learning environment.
Sue also served for over a decade in the U.S. Coast Guard, where she participated in law enforcement operations, search-and-rescue and responded to large-scale natural disasters, including the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Before military life took her around the world, Sue lived and worked in Africa, teaching English and Sustainable Development in Ethiopia as a Peace Corps volunteer and spent time crewing on a 40’ catamaran, where she developed her sea legs and started the process towards a Maritime Captain’s licensure.
