Capt. Sue Kerver has long held a passion for service and helping others. As an avid fly fisherwoman, an outdoor enthusiast, and a Coast Guard licensed Captain, Sue is now on a mission to use her knowledge and personal experiences to help women feel confident in the outdoor space.
In 2020, Sue attended Sweetwater Guide School in Montana and, a year later, moved to Bozeman where she obtained her Montana State fly fishing guide license and founded Two Gals and a Boat, with the goal of practicing strong conservation principles, creating community, and educating and empowering women to feel confident to explore the outdoors on their own or with others.
As a proud Veteran, Sue spent over a decade on active duty in the United States Coast Guard where she lived and worked on the West Coast, East Coast, Gulf Coast and overseas. Sue spent time underway, at small boat stations and responding to natural disasters and large-scale emergencies.
Prior to joining the Coast Guard, Sue served for two years in the Peace Corps, and taught English and Sustainable Development in Areka, Ethiopia. When she returned state-side in 1999, Sue accepted a position in Austin, Texas and taught middle school for the next few years. She then moved to South Padre Island, Texas, where she taught high school Language Arts and spent her summers as crew on a 40’ Catamaran.
When she isn’t busy fly fishing, skiing, hiking or exploring, Sue is spending as much time as she can with Meatball, her Chocolate Lab.
